Surgeon and Playwright Dr. Susan Lim took the stage at INK 2023: Futureverse to delve into a variety of sci-fi-ish ideas. One of them is the enduring fantasy of companionship between humans and inanimate entities, a notion that, for some, seems a probable solution to growing social isolation. Dr. Lim shares her personal story as a surgeon and how studying quantum physics fired up her imagination. Joining her is Joi Barua, performing “Teleportation,” a piece from a musical composition by Dr. Lim. Samudra Kajal Saikia’s animations bring these songs to life, highlighting a unique collaboration between a surgeon, scientist, and musician.
