Tushar Hiranandani is an Indian film writer. He grew up around the world of films as his grandfather Hiranand Hiranandani and father Ashok Hiranandani were Hindi film distributors and had a company called Black and White film distribution. He has previously worked as the Head of Content and Development for Balaji Motion Pictures before moving into full time direction.
He made his debut as a writer with the 2004 film Masti and immediately rose to fame. He subsequently wrote for several films like Faltu (2011), Double Dhamaal (2011), Grand Masti (2013), ABCD (2013), Main Tera Hero (2014), Ek Villian (2014) ,ABCD 2 (2015), Dishoom (2016) and Half Girlfriend (2017).
Tushar Hiranandani made his directorial debut in 2019 with the critically acclaimed movie Saand Ki Aankh featuring the powerhouses Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar. He was nominated at Filmfare 2020 for best debut director for Saand Ki Aankh. In the Pingyao International Film Festival, Saand Ki Aankh was nominated for People’s Choice Award (2019)-Gala-Best Film.
Tushar Hiranandani is currently working on a biopic based on Srikanth Bolla (played by Rajkumar Rao), who is a very successful visually impaired entrepreneur from a small town and was born to extremely poor parents.
